Assistant Director of Inclusive Excellence
Tiffany Polite serves as the Assistant Director of Inclusive Excellence in the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion. She is responsible for partnering across campus to develop data-driven, innovative strategies that promote retention and degree completion for underrepresented students at WKU. Prior to WKU, she served as the Academic Coordinator for the Upward Bound program at The Ohio State University. Ms. Polite received her Bachelor of Science degree in health sciences from The Ohio State University and her Master of Arts degree in higher education and student affairs from Western Kentucky University. In addition to her professional experience, Tiffany has served as a mentor to students of color in numerous K-12 and postsecondary environments. She has various research interests, including: the effects of college on students of color, particularly at large research institutions and HBCUs; how privilege and social capital influence the educational process; best practices in pathways to success in higher education; and the higher education professional’s role in helping students understand the historical and contemporary purposes of higher education.
