Housing
There are two primary options when it comes to Housing: On- or Off-campus. We encourage you to consider on-campus housing first. WKU offers an international Living Learning Community that pairs US students with international students. If you choose:
1) On-campus housing, simply click on the link, select “Apply for Housing”, then fill out and submit the online application. If you are arriving in the fall, keep in mind that you will need to apply for on-campus housing as soon as possible as rooms tend to fill up quickly. Once all of the housing requests have been processed, you will receive a confirmation email with your room assignment. You may also confirm this on TOPNET. For exchange students, the application fee is waived, so be sure to indicate that you are an "EXCHANGE" on the application form. Please note that Pearce Ford Tower (PFT) is the only residence hall open during breaks. Because exchange students are required to arrive early for orientation, they generally choose to live in PFT. If you request a different residence hall, you should also be aware that you will be responsible for finding alternate housing (hotel, motel, etc) during the times when all residence halls (with the exception of PFT) are closed (Winter break, Spring break, etc.).
2) Off-campus housing is also an option. The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) website provides a list of non-WKU-affiliated off-campus housing. Just be sure to a) let us know you are living off-campus and b) update your TOPNET account with your accurate off-campus address.
Summer Housing
Students staying off-campus will presumably be able to move into their apartments
upon arrival. If you arrive on August 23rd and are planning to live on campus, you
should be able to move directly into your residence hall. However, if you arrive
before the 23rd, you will need to move into temporary "summer" housing until the 23rd.
Please contact Addie Cheney if you plan to arrive before the 23rd and she will work
with you to make arrangements for temporary "summer" housing. The cost of summer
housing will be $25 US/ day or $100/week (one week is considered 4 or more days).
Exchange students will be responsible for these costs.
