Minor in Family Studies


The minor in Family Studies requires a minimum of 21 semester hours, and is available completely online. A grade of “C” or above must be earned in the following Family and Consumer Science (FACS) courses required for the minor:

Required Courses

  • FACS 191: Child Development
  • FACS 310: Management of Family Resources
  • FACS 311: Family Relations
  • FACS 494: Parenting Strategies
  • FACS 495: Interpersonal/Relationship Violence
  • AND 6 hours of approved electives
