 Western Kentucky University Police Department will process all applicants for Communications Officer in accordance with guidelines established by KRS 15.330, Communicator Professional Standards Act (TPS), which requires pre-employment standards and certification process for all full-time law enforcement communicators in the state of Kentucky. This in part includes; a background investigation, fingerprinting, psychological suitability screener, polygraph examination, and a drug screen.

NOTICE:   The below listed documents will be required of all applicants and must be submitted "PRIOR" to hiring of applicant:;
Copy of birth certificate
Copy of high school diploma
Copy of social security card
Copy of drivers license
Copy of military D.D.-214 (if in military)
If you are already certified by TPS also include a copy of your Communicators Professional Standards Certificate

Instructions:

All applications and resumes must be submitted through this online electronic talent management system. Only those individuals who submit all required materials will be considered as eligible applicants. We invite you to submit a cover letter which describes your interest and fit for this position. You will receive email notification confirming your application materials have been received. In addition to the application, this position required a Communication Officer Packet be completed. The packet can be accessed on the WKU Police Home Page or can be picked up in person at the WKU Police Department. Review of application materials will generally begin as applications are submitted.

The following documents need to be completed and turned in with application: Form H-2, Applicants Certification, Personal Inquiry Waiver Authority for Release of Information, Request for Driving Record Transcript, and Authority for Release of Consumer Credit Report.
