Welcome to the Department of Psychology!
Welcome to the Department of Psychology at Western Kentucky University. We are a student-centered department that offers those pursuing the 31-hour B.A. or 21 hour minor in Psychology:
- quality teaching,
- mentoring for research experiences and
- engagement in the community.
Our B.A. offers greater flexibility and versatility in opportunities to combine our degree with other programs on campus. It prepares the student for work life or for graduate school. Our goal is for you to acquire useful skills broadly applicable across many life paths.
The B.A. is available for completion at the Glasgow campus.
We also offer high quality graduate degrees that prepare students for licensing and professional careers: an M.A. degree in clinical and an Ed.S. in school psychology. Our graduates have a decade long track record of passing the national licensing exams.
Psychology is among the largest undergraduate majors at Western, with approximately 500 students, and is the fifth largest graduate program in full-time students. We are the oldest department1 addressing psychology at WKU and are located on the 3rd floor of Gary Ransdell Hall in the College of Education and Behavioral Science.
