Ms. Cynthia Harris
Cynthia Harris graduated from WKU in 1969 with a B.A. in Education and minor in Special Education. She was a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma and served as 2nd vice president of the Student National Education Association. She received her M.A. from the University of Kentucky and spent thirty years teaching in the Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville. Cynthia retired from teaching in 2002 and is now administering three-year evaluations for Special Education students on a part-time basis. She has been a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church in Louisville for over 30 years serving in various leadership roles. She and her husband of 39 years, renowned Hall of Fame singer Larnelle Harris (also a WKU graduate), have two grown children and three grandchildren.
