WKU Remembers 9/11

Many of us recall where we were when we heard the news or saw the towers fall on September 11, 2001.  Many of our students were young children back then, but the tragedy has resonated in global culture in the years since and has affected us all.

WKU is proud to pay tribute to the victims, survivors and families affected by 9/11, as well as to our retired and active Military service men and women who selflessly serve and protect our great country.

We hope that you will join us in remembrance.  Please feel free to join us at one of many events scheduled to commemorate 9/11 and to post your memories on our discussion board.

From 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. on Sunday, the Spirit Masters will welcome anyone who wishes to visit the Chandler Memorial Chapel on our campus.  This non-denominational observance embraces all faiths in a sacred place of quiet contemplation.

Our photojournalism faculty have prepared a stirring collection of photos taken by our students in New York ten years ago.  This display will be the backdrop for those who wish to visit our campus chapel on Sunday.  The full 9/11 photo exhibit can be seen in the Gallery in Mass Media and Technology Hall this weekend and through September 23.
