Certified Health Education Specialist


The Department of Public Health, Western Kentucky University, has been designated as a Multiple Event Provider (#105862 formerly #KY0022) of Category I continuing education contact hours in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC). The South Central AHEC coordinates the WKU CHES CE Program. 

NCHEC's voluntary professional certification program establishes a national standard for individual health education practitioners. Eligibility to take the CHES  and MCHES examination is based exclusively on academic qualifications. The CHES / MCHES exams are given each April and October. Exams are now computer based.  CHES Exam Schedule and Fees
