National / International Academic Scholarship (NIAS)
Non-resident and International students not otherwise eligible for the Tuition Incentive Program may be eligible for the National/International Academic Scholarship (NIAS) based on their academic achievement. Navitas students at WKU are not eligible for the NIAS.
Beginning freshmen with a 3.4 unweighted GPA and a 24 ACT/1090 SAT score are eligible to receive the National/International Academic Scholarship that will pay the difference between the non-resident tuition rate and the Tuition Incentive program (TIP) rate.
Non-resident transfer students with at least 24 earned hours and a 3.4 GPA are also eligible to receive the National/International Academic Scholarship that will pay the difference between the non-resident tuition rate and the Tuition Incentive program (TIP) rate.
To retain eligibility for the NIAS award, recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater. The cumulative GPA will be reviewed at the end of each spring semester for determination of eligibility for the upcoming fall semester. There is no application for the National/International Academic Scholarship. Eligibility for this program will be determined by the Department of Student Financial Assistance.
