President's award for Sustainability

                                                         

Sociology is honored to announce that Angela Briggs has received the 2013 President's Award for Sustainability.

Angela is a Sociology major at our WKU-Glasgow campus. She is a founding member of the WKU-Glasgow Greentoppers, a student-led organization where Angela has taken on quite a leadership role. She serves as an officer in the WKU-Glasgow Student Body Association and it an active member of the Sociology Club.

Angela has strong leadership and organizational skills and is equally valued in the wider community,where she is a member of numerous civic organizations,including the Homemakers and Kentuckians for the Commonwealth(KFTC). Ms. Briggs has also forged a particularly strong working relationship with Sustainable Glasgow as she is currently interning with this local non-profit.

Ms. Briggs discovered a passion for combining social justice and environmentalism. She has become a fierce advocate for revitalizing the campus and community according to these values. The Sociology Department is honored to be able to declare Ms.Brigg's award and accomplishments.
