One Great Yearbook
The Talisman is the official yearbook of Western Kentucky University and was first published in 1924. Since then the Talisman has been striving to serve WKU's diverse student body, faculty, staff and Bowling Green community.
The Talisman breaks through the mold of a traditional yearbook and strives to capture the unique essence of the year through award-winning photography combined with equally impressive copy and design elements.
Its most recent award is the Pacemaker from the Associated Collegiate Press, for the 2013 Talisman, "Form." The Pacemaker. launched in 1978, is considered the nation's highest honor for a student publication. This was the 17th Pacemaker awarded to the Talisman, and the 10th in the past 11 years -- including seven in a row now. The 2013 book also won the Gold Crown from Columbia Scholastic Press Association, one of four university yearbooks nationwide to receive the Gold Crown.
Within the yearbook, the Talisman captures the spirit already existing here on the Hill. Working for the Talisman has several advantages. The students who help produce the Talisman are developing skills that will help them as they enter the workplace. Staffers also have the opportunity to form lasting friendships.
The Talisman offers positions in photography, writing, marketing, layout and design. The Talisman is a place to express yourself and your creativity.
Experience our prestigious past and be a part of our bright future.
