Recess Rescue: Oct. 17 - Nov. 28, 2017
Suitable for all ages.
Recess Rescue tells the story of Sam, a new kid at school, who hates recess. Sam is having a
hard time making friends at his new school, because everyone thinks he is “weird.” The kids tease
Sam for carrying two toys with him everywhere – Eugene, the robot and Teddy, the bear. Sam’s anxiety and shyness, along with Eugene’s and Teddy’s appearances at school, make it tough for Sam to rub elbows with his peers.
One night, after a really tough day at school, Sam wishes on a shooting star for some friends, and out of nowhere, Eugene and Teddy come to life! With Eugene’s and Teddy’s help, Sam learns how to make friends at school, and navigates the difficulty of shyness, without changing who he is. Sam becomes a “superhero,” spreading kindness and friendship around the playground. Recess Rescue encourages children and adults alike to examine the way they treat those around them, shows the importance of being yourself no matter what, and places value on making friends and trying new things, even when it feels scary.
Recess Rescue is touring to area elementary schools. Please complete our online registration form to schedule a tour show at your school.

Music and Lyrics by Dolly Parton, Book be Patricia Resnick
Based on the 1980 hit movie, this hilarious musical centers around three female coworkers who entertain wild fantasies about how to take revenge on their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot of a boss. An accidental poisoning propels the trio into a blackmail plot that give them the upper hand, and empowerment that proves beneficial for the entire office.
