Interfraternity Council Activities

Activities

The Interfraternity Council at Western Kentucky University strives seeks to constantly engage the Western Kentucky University campus community and aid in the development of men of character. To assist in the facilitation of these goals, the men of the Interfraternity Council participate in the following activities.

Campus Back to School Cookout

The men of the Interfraternity Council recognize the profound benefits associated with being connected to one's university. To assist freshmen males in their transition to the WKU campus and a new environment, the gentlemen put on an annual cookout in August. This is an opportunity for new students to the Hill to meet some new and current students, while also assisting in their transition to campus.

Rho Alpha Program

Individuals in the Rho Alpha program serve as recruitment counselors and mentors for the prospective new members to the WKU Greek community. Additionally, Rho Alpha members serve as ambassadors of the Interfraternity Council for the campus and community.

Walk A Mile in Her Shoes

This annual event fights to raise awareness and put an end to domestic violence and sexual violence against women. Participants in this event walk a mile course around campus in red high heels; all funds raised through this event are donated to domestic violence shelters in the Bowling Green community.
