Phi Mu
General
Phi Mu was founded in 1852 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia by Mary Ann (Dupont) Lines, Mary Elizabeth (Myrick) Daniel, Martha Bibb (Hardaway) Redding. It began as the Philomathean Society, a literary society, and is the second oldest secret society for women in the nation. The Philomathean Society became Phi Mu Fraternity in 1904.
Phi Mu encourages its members to be strong leaders within the chapter and throughout Western Kentukcy University. Our sisters are frequently recognized for their contributions to the WKU community. Phi Mu encourages sisters to reach their full potential, and offers many opportunities for its members to develop leadership skills that help throughout our college years and beyond. Membership in Phi Mu teaches us the true meaning of sisterhood. No matter what we are doing, we always enjoy doing it together! Tha bonds that we form during these times help carry us for a lifetime.
