Allen County Folklife and Oral History Project

WKU students are working on a two year project with Allen County documenting the county's folklife and oral history.  During fall 2011 semester, students in the Cultural Conservation and Fieldwork classes documented aspects of folklife, especially their foodways. 

 

The Gardner House

An early 19th century house that the department, and especially students, are working to restore, research, and document.  There is a graduate assistant exclusively to working on the Gardner House as well as class projects that revolve around it.  

 

Original Folkloristic Radio Programming

Student programs on a range of topics including Monroe County BBQ, basket making, and local community members.

 

Ethnographic Video Production Lab

Information (and clips!) of videos done by students and equipment available for student use.
