The Division of Public Affairs serves the University community by providing timely and useful information to internal and external stakeholders. Public Affairs is committed to building positive relationships on behalf of WKU among the communities within our reach and throughout local, state and federal governments, the media and the general public.
WKU’s Division of Public Affairs includes several departments that work closely together to provide a wide range of services and support to the University community:

Each of these departments provides vital services to all divisions, colleges and departments within the University and works to increase the public awareness of WKU.
Public Affairs staff is involved in planning and executing communication strategies using a variety of media, such as news releases, websites, social networking, photographs and video as well as a multitude of print pieces that help the University reach its audiences.
The division is also responsible for planning events and University ceremonies, and staff members provide logistical and technical support for events across campus for both internal and external clients.
Public Affairs is also charged with advocating for the public interest of WKU and higher education in Kentucky and seeks to build goodwill with local, state and federal government officials and among the communities we serve.
Public Affairs staff members ensure that every project or event is developed and produced in a professional and cost-effective manner and that all projects follow the University’s branding and communications standards.
