The Preston Family Foundation Acquired Brain Injury Resource Program (ABIRP) provides a clearinghouse of information for brain-injured individuals, their family, and professionals who are returning or preparing to return to an educational setting. Although brain injuries can appear mild in nature it can have devastating effects on those things that we take for granted, such as memory, organization, and attention, all the things necessary to be successful in the classroom. ABIRP strives to help students become successful in their educational goals. The program will advise brain-injured individuals who either attend, or would like to enroll in, courses at Western Kentucky University or any other educational institution of their choice.
If you or someone you know has survived a brain injury and taking courses either here at WKU or any other school and would like some assistance, please contact us at: The Suzanne Vitale Clinical Education Complex at WKU (CEC), 104 East 14th Avenue, Bowling Green, KY.
