Campus and community also meet annually to talk about pressing issues in the area and how they can work together in groups through the Campus & Community Network.

An Introduction to Service-Learning in Higher Education

Service-learning in a higher education setting can be an extraordinary pedagogical strategy that combines a specific service experience with specific learning goals. “An Introduction to Service-Learning in Higher Education” workshop will focus on how to use service-learning as a vehicle to teach academic content to students in a university setting. Attendees will gain helpful tips and insights on syllabi construction, the academic benefits of SL, and how to use this pedagogical tool come alive in and out the classroom. In addition, attendees will see examples of service-learning at Western Kentucky University.
