The Social Adjustment Intern assists refugee clients to access mainstream social services when appropriate services are available. In the absence of appropriate mainstream services, the Intern will assist Social Adjustment staff to provide culturally appropriate services directly to refugee clients. Internship Opportunities - Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce

The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking student interns for the 2012 spring semester.
Qualified candidates must be available to work during office hours. The Chamber is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm on Monday and from 8:00am to 4:30pm Tuesday through Friday. You may tailor your internship schedule around your school or other commitments. Interns typically spend 15-20 hours at the Chamber each week. Internships, while unpaid, are an investment in your future because of the experiences you will gain at the Chamber. Preference is placed on students with strong communication skills and a desire to assist chamber professional with projects, events, publications, and day-to-day chamber operations.

Summer 2013 & Fall 2013 Semesters
Big Brothers Big Sisters, a national mentoring organization, is seeking interns for
the 2013 Summer and Fall Semester for their Bowling Green office. Although this is
not a paid internship, this is a great opportunity for candidates interested in non-profit
fundraising, marketing, public affairs and special event planning.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The intern(s) will assist with special projects and fundraising and marketing operations
including planning, implementing and working fundraising events and activities. The
ideal candidate will have an interest in non-profits, fundraising and marketing. At
the conclusion of his/her tenure, the intern will have a thorough understanding of
development and marketing activities, including researching and soliciting donor and
volunteer prospects. The intern will be encouraged to take a leadership role in spearheading
their own project within the objectives of the development department, depending on
one's experience and hours of availability.
The number of hours and schedule are flexible, but the intern will be expected to
work 15-25 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
with some occasional evening or weekend activities.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Area of studies can include Communications, Marketing, Non-profit Management, Hospitality Management
or other related fields. A successful candidate must be reliable and organized with exceptional
follow-through. He or she must have a strong ability to take direction, multi-task
and have the capacity for critical observation. Strong work ethic and willingness
to learn is ideal. Experience with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Publisher
and PowerPoint) is necessary. In addition, candidates must be internet savvy, have
good clerical skills, and have reliable means of transportation.

HOTEL INC Office hours: Tuesday-Friday 9am-3pm
Intern is most needed on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Must be able to work at least two days or three half days, but hours are flexible. The position is unpaid, and hours worked will be counted as volunteer hours.
General Requirements: Applicants must have completed 30 university credit hours (sophomore, junior, or senior status) and have a reliable form of transportation.

Job Description: The intern will fill the position of receptionist in the office of HOTEL INC. Duties include greeting clients, completing client intake forms and donation forms, answering the telephone, filing, data entry, and other miscellaneous office tasks. Should be willing to complete other projects as assigned by HOTEL INC staff, have good organization skills, be self-motivated, and work well with people. Basic computer skills needed.
There is also the opportunity to intern here as a Kentucky Service Corp member.
