Frequently Asked Questions:
When is the last day to get WellU event credit"
The last day to receive credit for events is Friday, May 3, 2013.
Can part-time students participate in the program?
No, not at this time. WellU® is only open to all full-time WKU students. This means
being registered for a minimum of 12 hours for undergraduate students and 9 hours
for graduate students.
Can I get WellU credit for events that I completed before I registered for WellU®?
Although we are happy that you were participating in healthy behaviors prior to registering,
unfortunately, credit will only be awarded for events participated in after registering
for WellU®. This is due to the way that our database tracks participation and the
time that it would take to back track events. WellU offers over 60 events each semester
for students to get involved in and we encourage you to look for events that are available
after you register for the program.
How many times do I have to attend an event to receive WellU® credit?
For many events, you only have to attend it once to receive credit. However, there
are some events that have to be attended or completed multiple times. You must attend
10 Group Fitness Classes to earn 1 WellU® Fitness Credit. You must participate in
Muscle of the Month twice to receive credit. Also, although there are 3 Fitness Incentive
Cards, you many only receive credit for the first card. Be sure to read the description
of the event to determine how many times you have to attend to receive credit.
How long after attending an event will it take to receive the credit on my WellU®
page?
Many events such as body composition and blood pressure checks will be immediately
awarded to your WellU® page. For one day events such as a Passport presentation or
Poker Walk, your credit should show up on your WellU® page within 2-3 days of the
event. Events such as Group Fitness Classes, Musle of the Month, Fitness Incentive
Card and Preventative Health Screenings are updated each Friday. If you have any questions
about event credit, feel free to contact us at student.wellness@wku.edu.
How will my instructor know that I have attended events?
Instructors who have registered their class with WellU® have their own instructor
WellU® page where they can view their class roster and each student's participation.
*NOTE - It is important that when you register for WellU®, you add your academic class
to your WellU® account so that you will appear on your instructors WellU® roster.
I forgot my Login and Password. What do I do?
Your WellU® login and password are the same as your WKU net ID and password. This
is the same login and password that you use to access your webmail, blackboard and
TopNet. If you don't know your Net ID, contact IT at 270-745-7000.
I completed the E-chug survey, but it is not showing the credit on my WellU® page.
What should I do?
There are a few steps to complete to complete the E-chug event. You must complete
the open ended questions at the end of the survey and click the green check mark.
After you have completely finished the survey, you must email Kathryn Steward with
Health Services at kathryn.steward@wku.edu notifying her that you have completed the
survey. Credit will be uploaded to WellU® every Friday.
I registered for WellU® earlier in the semester but now when I log in, it is telling
me to register again. What is wrong?
It may be that you did not completely finish the WellU pre-assessment survey when
you initially registered for WellU®. From the day that you first log in and register,
you have two weeks to complete the survey or the system will reset your account and
you will have to begin again. If this happens you simply reenter your demographic
information and complete the health survey that will take about 5-10 minutes. If you
are having any other problems logging in, please email us at student.wellness@wku.edu.
I have attended several Group X classes but they are not showing the credit on my
WellU® page. What do I do?
You must attend 10 Group Fitness Classes to complete the requirements for that event.
Every time you attend a class make sure that you are signing the roster and marking
that you are a WellU member by checking the box beside your name. These names are
recorded a couple times per week. Once you have attended 10 group fitness classes,
your credit will show up on your WellU® page.
Why is my blood pressure and body composition credit not showing on my WellU® page?
You must have your blood pressure and/or body composition tested 3 times before you
have completed the events. Every time that you come to have you blood pressure or
body composition checked, you are entered into the database. Once you have been checked
3 times, you will automatically be credited on your WellU® page. If you feel that
you have completed all 3 testings and it is still not showing on your WellU® page
feel free to contact us at student.wellness@wku.edu.
How can I see a list of all of the events that I have attended so far?
When you log in to your WellU® homepage, you can access your completed events by viewing
the leaderboard on the right hand of the screen. Click the tab on the right labeled
"My Events" to view the events you have completed. Remeber, some events will not show
up right away.
