College Heights Foundation
Born nearly a century ago out of compassion and love of students when a WKU faculty member gave $100 to President Cherry in order to help needy students, the College Heights Foundation has grown into a scholarship fund of over $50 million—all the while continuing to be motivated by those ideals from which it came: compassion and love of students. From the time the College Heights Foundation was chartered in 1923, its primary mission has been the administration of funds entrusted to its care by supportive alumni, corporations, organizations, and other friends for the purpose of helping deserving students obtain an education. CHF exists primarily to administer scholarships and aide worthy students enrolled at Western Kentucky University. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors made up of twelve prominent business and professional leaders who serve without remuneration. It is a fully-qualified, tax-exempt organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Nearly 6,000 students receive some scholarship funding, totaling to more than $29 million. Of that total, more than $5.6 million is provided in private support from the College Heights Foundation. The CHF is proud to be home to over 1,200 scholarships that each hold their own unique story.
