Bio
Chunling Niu earned her bachelor’s degree in English Language and Cultures at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies of China in 2000, and her master’s degree in Applied Linguistics (specialized in Translation Studies) from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in 2006. She is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Program of Educational Leadership at WKU. Since 2000, she has been involved in ESL education and intercultural communication and exchanges. She has served as simultaneous interpreter and translator for Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office and worked as lecturer for Sichuan International Studies University. Her academic and personal interests include intercultural communication and education, translation of Chinese classical literature, comparative literature, conference interpreting, and debate and public speaking. As instructor and tutor for Chinese Flagship Program, she is currently working to improve students’ proficiency in the Chinese language and to promote their understanding of Chinese culture.
