Jessica Brumley is an English for Secondary Education and Literature double major from Lawrenceburg, KY. Jessica's first trip to China was with the Confucius Institute in Summer of 2012.  As a winner of the U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship (CLS), she spent the summer of 2013 in Suzhou, China. She spent the summer of 2014 in Taipei, Taiwan through the Intensive Chinese Language Program for Flagship students located at National Taiwan University. Jessica is a Presidential Scholar, the Secretary for the Golden Key Honors Society, an Editor for the Zine and a member of the Coalition for Gender and Racial Equality. As a student assistant, she enjoys meeting with other students and working with them to make the transition to the Chinese Language as smooth as possible.

"My favorite aspect about the Chinese Flagship Program is having a community of speakers who can practice and learn the language together. It not only benefits our skills, but builds relationships with people outside your own major who have similar interests."
