The Department of Counseling and Student Affairs offers a MAE in Counseling. Included in this degree option are two concentrations students may choose for their programs of study to their primary areas of interest: 

Both are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Learn about the value of  CACREP-accreditation.

Our counseling programs provide graduates the credentials necessary to acquire a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) designation from the Kentucky Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. This credential is a necessary step toward obtaining licensure as Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of Kentucky.

In addition, these concentrations qualify graduates for certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors.
