Welcome!

The Department of Educational Administration, Leadership, and Research offers graduate courses and programs designed to prepare school personnel for effective leadership in the elementary and secondary schools. The department also includes Educational Foundations faculty who teach courses in research methods and statistics for graduate level programs.

We Have Moved!!

In January 2011, the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences moved to their new home, Gary A. Ransdell Hall located at the corner of Regents Ave. and Normal Drive. Starting the Spring Semester in 2011, all classes, departments, and faculty offices will be located in this new facility. EALR is located on the third floor (Rm. 3086). Stop in and visit us when you are in town and on campus!


Dr. Jie Zhang was an International Reading Associate Outstanding Dissertation Finalist, 2010.

Dr. Chris Wagner was awarded the William T. Nallia Award by the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA). This recognition is awarded annually to an education leader “who reflects a spirit of innovation and cutting edge leadership while bringing higher levels of success and learning to all children.” Dr. Wagner is the Co-Director of the Center for Improving School Culture and has made presentations and conducted workshops all over the country on the topic of improving school cultures.
