WKU offices in Bowling Green will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Classes Friday remain canceled and campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox remain closed Friday. Saturday classes in Bowling Green will proceed as scheduled. Certificate in Historic Preservation


The graduate certificate in Historic Preservation will provide the student with basic knowledge of and skills in preservation law and planning, architectural history, and cultural conservation. Students will be prepared for professional level work in preservation and cultural resource management.


The 15-hour certificate in historic preservation requires a 12-hour core: Cultural Conservation (FLK 560), Internship (FLK 589HP), and two of the following:  American Architectural History (FLK 445G,) Vernacular Architecture (FLK 464G), Museum Procedures and Preservation Techniques (FLK 470G), or Historic Preservation and Planning (GEOG 434G). A 3-hour preservation elective will be chosen with the advisor’s approval. The internship should be taken after the completion of at least six hours of coursework.
