Classes beginning at 4pm today on the WKU Bowling Green campus are canceled. ALL Thursday and Friday classes on all campuses are also canceled. Online classes will proceed as scheduled. WKU offices will be closed on Thursday, with essential personnel reporting.

WKU Owensboro closed at noon today (Wed., 3/4).

WKU Glasgow evening classes that begin at 5 pm today will be canceled and the WKU Glasgow campus will close at 7 pm.

WKU Elizabethtown-Fort Knox campus will close today at 3 pm and will remain closed Thurs., Fri, and Sat., March 5-7.

Should inclement weather make travel hazardous, residence halls will remain open until Saturday. Follow WKU Housing & Residence Life for updates.

Welcome to the Kentucky Museum!

Located on the campus of Western Kentucky University, The Kentucky Museum houses historical artifacts from the Commonwealth of Kentucky and from across the world.  We are home to an outstanding quilt and textile collection, extensive archeological and ethnic holdings, fine and decorative arts, permanent exhibits, art galleries, and traveling exhibitions. We offer award winning, hands-on programs for school classes and educational workshops for adults. Lectures and festivals round out the offerings at the Kentucky Museum.

We are pleased that you are interested in visiting the Instruments of American Excellence exhibit.  Please take a moment to review the following information we have provided to make your visit the most enjoyable experience possible.

Monday-Saturday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (CST)
Closed Sunday


Admission Prices:

Free to Friends of the Kentucky Museum
WKU faculty and staff members: $2.50 (with a current WKU identification card)
Student admission is free (with current WKU identification card)

General Admission

$5 for Adults
$2.50 for Children ages 6-16
$3.50 for Children and Students (guided tours)
$2.50 for Senior citizens (60 and above)
$10 for Families
Free for Children 5 and under
Discounts are offered to AAM, AASLH, AAA, and KMHA members with cards

Visitor Parking:

Free visitor and bus parking is available in the lot directly adjacent to the Kentucky Museum (Adams Street Lot) and in the lot across Kentucky Street.  Visitor spaces In the lot across Kentucky Street are marked with a "V."  Visitors must sign in at the front desk in the lobby of the Kentucky Museum.  To arrange special accommodations for tour groups by appointment for reduced cost (over 20) contact Timothy Mullin, 270-792-5353

The Kentucky Museum is fully accessible.  Handicap parking is available adjacent to the Museum in the Adams Street Lot.
