WKU offices in Bowling Green will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Classes Friday remain canceled and campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox remain closed Friday. Saturday classes in Bowling Green will proceed as scheduled. Here is a link to the University’s attendance policy during adverse weather conditions. Use caution and watch for slick spots on roads and walks.

WKU Computer Purchasing Guidelines

WKU supports two computer vendors for our faculty, staff, and administrators: Dell and Apple. Deviations from these standards require approval by the office of the Chief Information Technology Officer.

Apple Computers

If you wish to purchase an Apple computer, please click HERE and search for Western Kentucky University. Once found, choose to browse the WKU Store as guest. With this account you can create proposals that can be submitted to purchasing. It is recommended that you use Firefox on a PC or Safari on a Mac. You can also contact the WKU Inside Sales Representative at Apple for further help and instruction:

Sustainable Purchasing

In support of the University’s commitment to sustainability, the IT department purchases Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) Certified computers. EPEAT Certified electronics meet required criteria and optional criteria for environmental performance characteristics, including reduction or elimination of environmentally sensitive materials, use of recycled content or renewable materials, design for end of life, product longevity, energy conservation, end of life management, packaging, and corporate performance.
