How do I get on the camp information mailing list?

When does registration begin?
Summer camp registration usually begins in mid February. You may register as soon as the information is placed on the
Museum website. Spring break camp registration usually begins in late January and fall break camp registration begins 
in August as soon as the information is placed on the Museum website.
 
I'm having trouble registering online. Can I register by phone?
Yes. If you are having trouble registering call Lynne Ferguson, 270-745-2594.
 
May I register my child for more than one camp?
Yes. You may register your child for as many camps as their age allows.
 
What are the behavior expectations for campers?
Parents should send a signed Camp Rules Form with other registration material prior to camp. These rules
are posted in the classroom and emphasized throughout the week. In the event of a severe behavior problem,
we will call you to pick up your child. At our discretion, your child may be allowed to return to camp the following day.
 
What happens if my child becomes ill or hurt during camp?
Camp personnel will call the phone number of the primary contact listed on the Parental Consent From.
 
Will I need to send food with my child?
No. Please make sure your child has breakfast before they arrive at camp. The Museum supplies an individual
snack such as fruit, chips, cookies, jello and an individual drink such as Capri Sun or bottled water at 10AM.
If your child has special food needs or allergies please list that information on the Parental Consent form.
 
What should my child wear to camp?
Send your child in old clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. While we use mostly washable products there
are times we use permanent paints, dyes and markers. During camp children also play outside and around the
museum. It is advisable to send them in layers as temperature inside the museum can vary. Please send children 
in closed-toe shoes. Roller-shoes are not allowed.
 
Who are the camp instructors?
All our lead instructors are experts in their craft with a background in education. Staff consist of Museum Education
professionals, WKU graduate students and students. Summer camps staff also includes dedicated young adults
who were museum participants when they were young and have experience working with children.
 
Are parents or other caregivers allowed to attend camp with children?
The museum does not allow adults to attend camp with the children.
 
Can my child enroll in the same camp as their friends?
Yes, if there is space in the camp.
 
Should my child bring a toy or electronics to camp?
No, please leave toys, trading cards, stuffed animals at home. Toys brought to camp are often lost or damaged.
 
After registering my child may I change camp weeks?
Thirty days prior to camp you may change camp weeks if there is space.
 
What is the refund policy?
Cancellation more than 30 days - full refund.
30 - 15 days prior to camp - 50% refund
Less than 15 days prior to camp - no refund
