Grades K - 8

There has been a sharp increase in requests for grades K-8 guided tours in recent years. Unfortunately, many requests for guided tours for elementary and middle school classes from WKU Admissions cannot be granted. Listed below are alternatives:

  1. Self-Guided Tour - Consider organizing and leading students on your own campus tour using the iWKU application. This smart phone app has great audio and video for 30 campus locations. Download the app to phone and click on MAPS. Click the person in the lower right corner for TOURS. Click on the RED PINS in various building for audio at 30 locations. Clicking the ARROW in the lower left corner will show your current location on the map.  Consider dividing students into four or five separate groups - each with an adult guide using the iWKU app map with audio.

Please contact Parking & Transportation at 745-2361 or transportation@wku.edu to schedule bus parking. This ensures there is bus parking available on the day you plan to visit.
  2. Day at WKU/ KY Museum Field Trip - Students will tour a variety of museum exhibits in the morning, eat lunch on campus and then be taken on a guided walking tour of the WKU Campus by Kentucky Museum staff. Go to Day @ WKU for reservation request,  cost per student, sample itinerary and more information.

  3. Eating Lunch on Campus-   Weather permitting some groups bring sack lunches, plastic tablecloths and trash bags and eat picnic style on the grass of South Lawn, across from football stadium. Some school groups choose to eat on campus with a variety of restaurants and food choices. Arrangements for lunch purchased on campus for your group may be made by contacting WKU Restaurant & Catering Group at 270-745-2416.
