About Serials
WKU Libraries has a centralized Serials Unit for all serials ordering, payments, check-in, processing, cataloging, claims, bindery preparation. Requests can be made through faculty library representatives or by contacting the Collection Services Coordinator. A completed Serials Request Form starts the review process for new titles. The Serials Unit handles approximately 4,000 current subscriptions to scholarly journals, periodicals, newspapers, microforms, and electronic resources. The average price of a serial title for WKU Libraries is $220.00. Serials information is regularly updated on TOPCAT. WKU Libraries is the third largest contributor to KULS (Kentucky Union List of Serials), a database that facilitates interlibrary lending.
