About M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan
M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan (Making Academic and Social Transitions Educationally Rewarding) is Western Kentucky University's five day extended orientation program for first year residential students (if you are a commuter student, check out MPC, M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan's Commuter Program!). M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan participants benefit from the opportunity to move to campus a week early--before upperclassmen arrive, before classes begin--to get acclimated to campus, find out where their classes are located, and begin building social support networks. The program is designed to provide new students with essential information and resources to help ensure their success at WKU.
During M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan week, daily educational sessions engage participants in meaningful conversations about life on campus, the first year college experience, and how to succeed in college. Special events introduce new students to the university, educate them about the school's history and traditions, and help them catch the WKU Spirit! Social activities provide opportunities for new students to make connections, identify ways to get involved on campus, and build friendships with other first year students in attendance.
M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan strives to help first year students make a successful academic and social transition from home and high school to WKU. This exciting program equips new students with tools for building a foundation of success at WKU, enhances their skills for learning in and out of the classroom, and helps them forge connections with members of the campus community, faculty and staff, and students.

What Students Have to Say...
"Personally, M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan has allowed me the opportunity to experience new things here at WKU that I never thought I would. Also, M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan has opened many doors and introduced me to several different people here at WKU that has been beneficial to me. I challenge everyone to experience M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan!"
