To arrange an audition for admission to a major or minor in music, prospective students must complete and submit
this online form. Students auditioning for admission as a music major are automatically considered for a
music scholarship; no additional materials are necessary.
This is an online application and will ask you to select an Audition Date from the following options:
-Saturday, January 26, 2013 (WKU Honors Band participants ONLY)
-Friday, February 22, 2013
-Saturday, February 23, 2013
-Friday, March 1, 2013
-Saturday, March 2, 2013
-Other by appointment
Please note: To be considered for Music Major scholarships or grants, students must apply and audition on or before MARCH 2, 2013.

This is an online application that is available to you as a convenience and is a secure process. The
application fee is $40.00 for domestic students and $75.00 for international students, and is non-refundable.
You will be required to mail additional documentation to the Office of Admissions in order to have your
application considered complete.

These include minimum GPA, ACT composite and subscores (or SAT score) and specifics on Pre-College (high school) curriculum content. Students majoring in music must achieve Full Admission or Directed Admission as an undergraduate university student.
Prospective Music Majors must apply to both the university and the music program.
Step 3. APPLY for Scholarships and Grants as appropriate.
Music Department Scholarships and Grants: Students who audition for admission to a music major by March 2, 2013 will automatically be considered for Music Department Scholarships and Grants.
Other available scholarships include those awarded for high academic achievement and for GSA alumni. SEPARATE APPLICATION MUST BE MADE FOR EACH OF THESE AWARDS.

Application must be received no later than January 15, 2013. Generally, a 3.3 cumulative grade point average and a 26 composite ACT score (or 1170 SAT) are necessary to be competitive for most academic scholarships. A chart detailing various levels of Academic Scholarships and minimum academic requirements for each is available online here.
Governor's School for the Arts Alumni Scholarships information and application forms are available online here.
Prospective music majors who have attended the Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts in a music area are eligible to apply for these awards, a limited number of which are available for entering freshmen each year. A complete application must be submitted to the Dean's Office of Potter College of Arts and Letters by January 15th.
Music students wishing to be considered for the GSA Alumni award must apply and audition for Admission as a Music major on or before March 2, 2013.
