A native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Larry Long holds the Bachelor of Music degree in Education from Western Kentucky University and the Master of Music in bassoon from Memphis State University. Currently, he operates Opus Horn Repair in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Larry has taught instrumental music in the public schools and oboe and bassoon on the college level. Mr. Long has performed with the Bowling Green/Western Symphony, Owensboro Symphony, Memphis Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic, Orchestra Kentucky, Paducah Symphony, Western Arts Quartet and the Lost River Cave Big Band. In addition to performing, Larry is a highly respected private oboe and bassoon teacher. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha professional music fraternity and the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians. When free time allows, Larry enjoys flying his fleet of radio controlled model airplanes. He resides in Bowling Green with his wife Karen and daughter Rebecca.
