WKU offices in Bowling Green will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Classes Friday remain canceled and campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox remain closed Friday. Saturday classes in Bowling Green will proceed as scheduled. Here is a link to the University’s attendance policy during adverse weather conditions. Use caution and watch for slick spots on roads and walks.

Bio

Dr. Jeff Bright is the Associate Director of Bands at Western Kentucky University where his primary duties will include directing all athletic bands as well as the Concert Band. Prior to his appointment at WKU, Bright held the Director of Bands position for eight years at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where he was responsible for all band activities as well as teaching private low brass lessons. His experience spans twenty years of teaching music at all levels, and ensembles under his direction have received numerous superior ratings and best in class awards. Bright holds bachelors and masters degrees in music education from the University of Arkansas and a Ph.D. in music education from the University of Oklahoma, and his professional affiliations include Phi Beta Mu Bandmasters Fraternity, American School Band Directors Association, College Band Directors National Association, College Music Society, Music Educators National Conference, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
