Exchange (J-1) Students
WKU hosts more than 60 exchange students every year from partner universities across the globe. Exchange students extend WKU’s overall international reach, contributing unique perspectives to classrooms across campus and adding another level of diversity to our already extensive international student population.
Definitions
Exchange Visitor/J-1 Student - a non-immigrant participating in a non-degree-seeking exchange program.
J-1 Visa - a temporary document issued by the US State Department that allows for those individuals to reside legally in the US for the duration of their exchange program.
