Distance Learning Options

Distance learning modes afford you the opportunity to earn college credit on your terms! Within WKU's Office of Distance Learning, you have options available that will allow you to build your schedule in a way that best fits your life.

At WKU, distance learning refers to the following course delivery options:

  • Web/Online Courses refer to online courses with specific start and end dates, based on WKU's academic calendar. The campus location for these courses is listed as "web." To find listings for web courses visit WKU’s Schedule of Classes and search campus location "web" or visit http://www.wku.edu/online/online-classes.php.
  • WKU On Demand refers to self-paced, open enrollment courses offered online or through email, CD ROM, or print. On demand courses allow you to sign up any day of the year, finish your course in as little as 7 weeks or take up to 9 months! To learn more visit www.wku.edu/ondemand or call 800-535-5926.
  • IVS/Videoconference refers to semester–based courses broadcast to and from regional campus locations in Glasgow, Owensboro, and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox. These courses provide real-time interaction between the originating site and remote classroom locations.
