WKU Owensboro Campus Security

WKU Owensboro's security team conducts routine patrols of the campus grounds and is available for student escorts during night classes. In addition to their watch duties, the interns are trained in first aid and CPR.  Formed in the fall of 2011 through a partnership with Owensboro Community and Technical College and the Daviess County Sheriff's Department, the WKU Owensboro security team is an important element in maintaining a safe campus environment.

In 2011, WKU Owensboro installed emergency call boxes in each parking lot on campus.  By pushing the red button on the call box, you are connected to the Daviess County 911 Center and your location will be displayed on caller ID.  Pushing the button activates a blue flashing light on top of the pole.  The flashing light is designed to draw attention to the area in an attempt to prevent or dissuade further criminal action.
