You Can Start SM Today
The Systems Management major is open to all interested WKU students. Unlike some other
programs, SM does not have a complicated admissions policy or require a series of
prerequisite courses before letting you dive into your major. Systems Management courses
are offered on every semester and you may sign up for these whenever your schedule
permits. You do not need to have junior-standing or complete some number of hours
to declare this major. You may start taking SM classes as early as the second semester
of your Sophomore year.

Transfer Students
WKU is pleased to partner with Kentucky Community and Technical Colleges (KCTCS) and
the U.S. Army (and other branches) with the SM program.
Transfer students may apply their complete A.A., A.S., or A.A.S. degree to the SM
Major. Military AARTS transcripts are also welcome.
You won’t find any complicated articulation agreements or lists of which classes may
or may not transfer in the SM program. We respect the college work that you’ve completed
and will work with you to map your Associates to a Bachelors degree.
Transfer students complete 8 required SM classes, 5 classes in an area of Professional
Concentration, 3 departmental electives, and complete their General Education and
other WKU graduation requirements. Many transfer students graduate in as few as
4 semesters of full-time study.
