TRC - Training Resource Center
What is TRC?
The Training Resource Center (TRC) is a professional development program located within the College of Health and Human Services, Department of Social Work at Western Kentucky University (WKU).
The TRC partners with the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) to provide trainings for human service professionals to enhance job performance and improve service delivery.
How is TRC funded?
Funding for the TRC is provided by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ Department for Community Based Services through the use of federal Title IV-E funds (Adoption Assistance and Child Welfare Act of 1980).
WKU’s TRC classrooms
The TRC has two classrooms on WKU’s main campus dedicated to the TRC and Credit for Learning (CFL) programs. The rooms are considered “smart” classrooms with up to date technology, including two flat screen televisions, two projectors, two computers, and a Polycom.

The TRC utilizes a variety of locations for trainings, including classrooms on WKU’s main campus and South campus, as well as off campus conference rooms in order to meet the needs of each training.
Mission:
The Training Resource Center is a customer-focused, university-based service organization that works through partnerships to strengthen the skills of human service and training professionals.
