Membership in KAS is open to anyone with an interest in science. KAS members are eligible to apply for research grants, submit manuscripts for publication in the Journal of the Kentucky Academy of Science (JKAS), receive complimentary electronic access to the JKAS, and are entitled to discount KAS meeting registration fees.
To become a (free) enhanced KAS member, visit www.kyscience.org, click Join, and select the Enhanced Member option.
Use your Western Kentucky University e-mail address for registration.
If you are already a member of KAS your membership will be automatically updated for 2012 and no action is required.

A WKU graduate student has developed a smartphone app that uses Twitter data to track the outbreak of the Ebola virus and could predict the spread of the virus.
Dr. Nahid Gani, Assistant Professor of WKUís Department of Geography and Geology, has been awarded the prestigious and nationally competitive American Chemical Society-Petroleum Research Fund (ACS-PRF) Grant to support her research in East Africa.
