Biomimicry is, quite simply, design inspired by nature. The idea is to use elegant and amazing biological ideas to solve human problems. The Biomimicry Institute website is full of awesome examples of biomimicry and other great resources.
BG Green, Bowling Green's community organization that is working to "build a vibrant, livable & austainable community for today and our future" has a great website full of local and regional resources.
The National Wildlife Federation Campus Ecology program offers resources, case studies, webinars, and lots of other great information.
In January, 2010, WKU adopted a short-term strategic plan, the "WKU Guide for 2010-2012",
which includes both a commitment model, and to teach sustainability. The plan includes
a Resolution for EfS that will be supported with faculty and staff development opportunities.

WKU is a member institution of the US Green Building Council. We have committed to building all new buildings to LEED standards and to prepare for that commitment, 13 staff and faculty at WKU have earned their LEED Professional Accreditation.
