Faculty and Staff Parking

Faculty and Staff may choose from several parking options.  Please note, there is a waiting list for some permits.

2015-2016 FACULTY / STAFF PARKING MAP

South Campus Park and Ride Permit (C2) - $50 Year

Faculty and Staff may purchase the he South Campus Park and Ride Permit (C2). The C2 permit is only $50/year and allows parking at the South Campus C2 lots at all times.  In addition, the permit is honored in lots zoned AP - "All Permit" and in C1 lots on the main campus after 2 PM, Mon – Fri, and in all lots except Housing (H1 – H5) after 4:30 PM, Mon-Fri.

Park and Ride service to the main campus is provided by the WHITE LINE transit route from 7:15 AM – 6:00 PM and the GREEN LINE from 6 PM – 10 PM, Mon – Fri.  During peak service, a bus will be leaving South Campus every 6 minutes. The South Campus Park and Ride Permit is recommended for Faculty and Staff members who are seeking a low cost parking option, who come to campus occasionally, or who come to campus late in the day.

Non-Premium Permit (FS3) (Previous NP) - $100 Year

Faculty and Staff Non-Premium parking lots are now zoned FS3.  The FS3 permit is available to all Faculty and Staff members. This permit allows parking in all Non-Premium FS3 parking lots, in all Main Campus Commuter lots (C1) except PS2, in lots zoned AP - "All Permits", and in South Campus Park and Ride lots (C2).

Premium Permit (FS1 and FS2) - $220 Year

Premium Permits are sold as a renewal to current Premium Permit holders. Additional permits are sold from a waiting list as space allows. To be placed on the Premium waiting list, use the permit waitlist option on your WKU PARKING ACCOUNT.  Your name will be added in the order it is received. Waiting lists are maintained from year to year. 

Premium parking is broken into two zones: FS1 (The Hill & Mimosa Lots) and FS2 (Diddle Area and South Lawn Lots).  See the 2015-2016 PARKING ZONE MAP to see the new zones.

  • FS1 permits will be allowed to park in FS1 and FS3 zones.
  • FS2 permits will be allowed to park in FS2 and FS3 zones.
  • Premium permits continue to have park-down privileges in
    • AP – All Permits zones
    • C1 – Commuter (except PS2)
    • C2- South Campus
    • H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 – Housing zones.

Alumni Square Garage Permit (AS) - $240 Year

Faculty and Staff are eligible to buy the Alumni Square Garage Permit which guarantees parking within the facility.  The Alumni Square Garage Permit is also honored in lots zoned AP - "All Permits" and in the South Campus Park and Ride lots (C2).  The Alumni Square Garage is located on Alumni Avenue at Kentucky Street.  This option is best suited for Faculty and Staff with offices on the north end of campus.

Transit service provides direct access to major academic buildings on State Street and Normal Street.  The RED LINE picks up passengers on Center Street next to Augenstein Alumni Center on its way to campus 7:30 AM - 8:30 PM weekdays.  

Permit sales to the Alumni Square Garage are limited to provide guaranteed parking for permit holders. Permits are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and are managed with a waiting list.  


Gated Permits (GR and GH) - $400

Gated Regents (GR) and Gated Hilltop (GH)  permits are sold as a renewal to current gated permit holders.  Additional permits are sold from a waiting list as space allows.  To be placed on either the Gated Regents or Gated Hilltop Waiting List, use the Permit Waitlist option on your WKU PARKING ACCOUNTYour name will be added in the order it is received.  Waiting lists are maintained from year to year.  Gated permits allow parking in their specific gated lots, in Non-Premium FS3 lots, in Main Campus Commuter lots (C1) (except PS2), in lots zoned AP -  "All Permits", and in South Campus Park and Ride lots (C2).

 

Reserved Permit (R) - $655

All full time, benefits eligible Faculty and Staff are eligible to request a Reserved Parking space on campus.  The Reserved Permit will be valid in your designated space and any non-reserved space in all zones, including faculty / staff Gated Lots.  The Reserved space is for personal use Mon - Fri from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.   If an unauthorized vehicle is parked in your space during business hours, call PTS to have vehicle cited or towed.  If spaces are used for events/maintenance during business hours, alternate parking will be provided.

To request a Reserved Permit, email PTS at transportation@wku.edu with request for reserved parking.  Please name the lot in which you are interested.  Requests will be reviewed and assigned as space allows in the requested area.  Waitlists will be maintained for high demand areas. 

Disability Parking (D1) - $100

A WKU Disability Permit is required to park in disability parking spaces on campus.  WKU Disability permits are issued in person at the PTS office.  For more information regarding disability parking requirements, click HERE.

South Campus Permit (C2)

  • After 2PM – All C1 - Commuter Lots and lots zoned AP - "All Permits"
  • After 4:30 PM - All Lots except Housing Lots

Disability Permit (D1)

$100 / year

Evening Parking

(4:30 PM - 10:00 PM; Sunday - Friday)

In the evening, a current WKU parking permit is required to park in the Gated Regents, Gated Hilltop, and Mimosa lots. The low cost South Campus Permit is recommended if you will only be visiting campus after 4:30 PM.

All other Premium (FS1 and FS2) and Non-Premium (FS3) faculty and staff lots as well as Main Campus Commuter lots (C1)  (including PS2), are open in the evenings. Permits are not required in open lots.

Special events may disrupt evening parking, particularly around Diddle Arena.

Weekend Parking

(Saturday and Sunday)

All campus parking lots (except Gated Regents) are open all day Saturday.  Permits are not required in open lots.

Housing permits are required in Housing lots beginning Sunday afternoon at 4:30 PM.
