WKU offices in Bowling Green will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Classes Friday remain canceled and campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox remain closed Friday. Saturday classes in Bowling Green will proceed as scheduled. Retiree Parking Policy

Persons who have retired from Western Kentucky University.

Definitions

Retiree – person who has retired from WKU.

Policy Details

Retirees who have not returned to the University to work have the following parking options at WKU:

• Purchase a Retiree, “E” permit for the current price and parking access of a Non-premium permit.

• Purchase a premium or gated permit for the current price if that is the permit they held at the time of their retirement.

• Purchase a one-day visitor permit from WKU PTS for $2/permit. Parking is allowed at all non-reserved parking spaces on campus.

• Park in the Diddle South public parking lot. Fee is $1.50/hr with a $10 maximum fee/day.

• Park at available meters. Rates are 25₵/15 minutes. Time limits vary according to location.

• Park for free at the Kentucky Museum visitor parking lot on Kentucky Street.

o The free parking permit for this lot is available at the Welcome Center, located in the Kentucky Building or at Parking & Transportation Services, 578 Campbell Lane.

• Park for free at the Campbell Lane Park and Ride lot and utilize transit services to get to and from main campus.

Retirees who have returned to the University to work may purchase, at face value the permit they utilized at the time of their retirement or any other faculty/staff permit for which they are eligible.

 

Permit ownership is nontransferable. The permit owner is the only individual authorized to use the permit. A citation for “Unauthorized use of Permit” may be issued anytime abuses are documented.
