The Financial Planning Association® is the national membership organization for CFP® professionals. We are a student chapter working together with the national organization to prepare college students in their journey to becoming financial advisors. Our chapter allows members to gain insights to the industry, connect with local planners, and also provides volunteering opportunities.

TVA Investment Challenge Program

The Investment Challenge allows teams of students to manage stock portfolios for TVA. They gain real-world investment experience and compete for prizes awarded by TVA on the basis of their schools' portfolio performance.

The mission of the WKU Center for Financial Success is to be the primary and coordinating resource in aiding the university and regional community in becoming financially informed and independent by utilizing a combination of faculty expertise, peer-to-peer counseling and applied financial planning education.

Each academic year we seek to connect our students with industry practitioners through field trips to visit corporations and firms, and by attending conferences. Personal Financial Planning students can look forward to visiting investment and financial planning firms in: Louisville and surrounding areas, Nashville/Franklin/Brentwood and surrounding areas, Bowling Green/Owensboro/Evansville and surrounding areas and St. Louis/Chicago/Indianapolis/Columbus and Cincinnati during the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semester.
