Undergraduate students are invited to apply for the KBMI Summer Intern Program. The
KBMI Summer Intern program is funded through the Kentucky Bank Management Institute
endowment. Each summer, two or three KBMI interns will be selected based on a competitive
review of applications. The interns will be paid through the KBMI Summer Intern Program
to work 20 hours a week for eight weeks. The
current wage rate for the program is $8 per hour. Applicants must have an academic
major in the Gordon Ford College of Business and should be
interested in a career in the banking industry. The application process and procedures for the review of applications are listed below:
Application Process
A one or two page essay summarizing the accomplishments of the applicant and her/his interest in a career in banking is required. In addition, the applicant should provide her/his resume and transcript. Materials should be submitted to the Department of Finance, Gordon Ford College of Business, 334 Grise Hall, Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, KY 42101-3576. The application deadline is April 20.
Procedures for the Review of Applications
A committee will review applications and make recommendations to the participating banks. The committee will be comprised of two finance faculty members. The final phase of the selection process will require personal interviews between the management of participating banks and applicants that are recommended by the committee.
