Conference Opportunities

The Residence Hall Association at Western Kentucky University is affiliated through the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), Inc. and the Southeastern Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (SAACURH). Through this membership, there are numerous opportunities to travel to other institutions to learn about what other Residence Hall Associations are working on and to present and share what WKU is doing on our campus.

About NACURH, Inc.

The National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) was founded in 1954 at Iowa State University. It was founded to help encourage the exchange of information and ideas between residence hall governments. NACURH is a tax-exempt corporation that is incorporated through the state of Oklahoma. NACURH is made up of eight different regions: CAACURH, GLACURH, IACURH, MACURH, NEACURH, PACURH, SAACURH, and SWACURH. In addition, NACURH has two national offices: the NACURH Information Center (NIC) and NACURH Services and Recognition Office (NSRO). The organizations official colors are blue and white. NACURH promotes living on campus as an integral part of the college experience, and strives to provide resources to help member schools create the ultimate residence hall environment and experience. NACURH also strives to recognize leadership and programs on its members’ campuses. On Campus Marketing is the official corporate sponsor of NACURH.

NACURH hosts an annual conference that takes place each summer. More information will be posted here once it becomes available.

About SAACURH

The South Atlantic Affiliate is the largest affiliate of NACURH, and is comprised of the nine most southeastern states in North America. These states include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. The South Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (SAACURH) was formed in 1964 to advocate on behalf of all affiliated schools. SAACURH hosts two conferences each academic year: the Regional Leadership Conference and the Regional Business Conference. If you are interested in the regional conference, please continue to check back here to apply.
