Latin American Studies Calendar

A film examining the challenges of providing widespread access to healthcare in Cuba, Honduras, Venezuela, South Africa, and the Gambia. The Cuban medical system is used as a model for how even countries with limited resources can provide effective community-based care for groups of people who have never had reliable access to health services. The film also looks at Cuba's role in sending doctors to these countries and training foreign medical students (including a few from the United States) to serve in their home countries.
