Security & Floor Plan

Welcome to WKU Libraries!

The Library Security staff strives to maintain an atmosphere conducive to reading, study, and research in the Helm-Cravens complex. An array of electronic security measures as well as student patrollers and other employees are utilized to provide assistance to patrons, respond to security incidents and emergency situations, and ensure the safety of our patrons, faculty and staff working in the facility.

Maintaining the integrity of the collection and providing a safe, secure facility for our patrons in an efficient and unobtrusive manner is the primary goal of your library security staff and student assistants. All security personnel serve in other capacities as well, performing duties including stacks management, circulation supervision, staffing of the Helm Information Desk, and responding to maintenance and other issues throughout the Helm-Cravens Library complex.

We recommend keeping your personal belongings with you at all times while using our facility. Theft of personal items is the most prevalent security issue in the facility. You are also encouraged not to walk alone on campus after dark. If you need assistance with any issue, security-related or otherwise, please let us know.
