Instructions for submitting the video audition

Deadline is Friday, January 21, 2022, 11:59 PM CST

Students shall record an unedited video of all audition materials. The student may only pause the video between scales and the two required etudes.

  1. Place video camera or phone so that the student is visible in the video from the front.
  2. Once the recording device is started, the student must announce their full name (first and last name), current grade for 2021-2022 school year, and what school they attend.
  3. The student will then record themselves perform the following major scales and chromatic with a tempo of the quarter note at 90 bpm. Scales do not need to be memorized.
  4. Perform and record the two required etudes
  5. All scales and the two etudes MUST be recorded on one video.
  6. Save the video and upload to YouTube as an unlisted video. This will prevent anyone without the link from being able to view the video.
  7. Submit the video along with other pertinent information at link provided to your band director. Once successfully submitted, you will receive an email confirmation that your submission was received.
